PhD Candidate Adrienne Oehlers Receives Teaching Award

Adrienne Oehlers

Doctoral candidate Adrienne Oehlers is one of the recipients of the Graduate School's 2021-2022 Graduate Associate Teaching Awards. This award is Ohio State's highest recognition of teaching done by its approximately 3,000 graduate students serving as GTAs.

Recipients must excel in carrying out responsibilities associated with their GTA appointment such as

  • Ability to stimulate thinking and develop understanding among students
  • Use of varied teaching techniques appropriate to students and course content
  • Superior organizational skills in relation to course development and management
  • Excellent knowledge of and enthusiasm for course subject matter
  • Resourcefulness in presenting course material
  • Willingness and ability to solicit and reflect on feedback about teaching and to implement changes for improvement
  • Ability to demonstrate that their courses resulted in significant student learning
