Paige Piper is Academic Program Coordinator for the Film Studies and Moving-Image Production majors and associated film and media minors. She primarily works on undergraduate curriculum, scheduling, recruitment, and program support for the film and media areas of the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts, and serves as Internship Coordinator for the department's major programs in film and theatre. Piper has taught cinema, comics, language, and cultural/media analysis courses at multiple higher-education institutions, and earned a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. Piper’s academic research focuses on transnational crime fiction, film and television genre and seriality, and Francophone visual and popular cultures. Publications include work on transnational "social thrillers," the spatial dynamics of French thriller cinema, and the Nordic Noir trend in crime television. She has served as Associate Guest Editor for a special issue of Film Matters Magazine, and has been a member of the Midwest Working Group in French and Francophone Cinemas, judge for the Mad Royal Film Festival at Ohio State, and screening panel member for the Austin Film Festival.
