Description:
The Department of Theatre at The Ohio State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Directing, beginning Autumn 2017. We seek an accomplished director and teacher of directing with an interdisciplinary perspective and a proven commitment to undergraduate and graduate education. The successful candidate will be as excited by the opportunity to direct classic plays as the chance to lead new work development processes. He or she will have strong knowledge of contemporary and traditional approaches to theatre-making, as well as a confident, vibrant personal aesthetic. He or she will teach graduate and undergraduate courses; collegially contribute to department life; and mentor undergraduate and graduate work. Qualifications:
A terminal degree in theatre and performance, as well as significant professional directing experience, is required. Expertise and experience in leading new play development projects, in various models, is desired. Interest and experience in outreach and engagement a plus. Appointment is contingent on the university’s verification of credentials and other information required by law and/or university policies, including but not limited to a criminal background check.
