Kaizaad Kotwall (MA '93, PhD '00), along with his morther Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal received the prestigious "Karmaveer Puruskar Mahartna" award in New Delhi as part of a REX and UN joint initiative or their work with the Make-A-Difference Foundation.

They established the Make-A-Difference Foundation in 2008. The foundation is dedicated to the cause of women's empowerment and particularly the cause of helping battered and abused women.
