InterACT

In the 2015-2016 academic year, members of the InterACT Theatre Company performed 8 times for an estimated 570 people, including 3 brand new devised works. The company performed for a variety of campus partners including Fisher College of Business, the Department of English, and in collaboration with our long-standing partner, the University Center for the Advancement of Teaching (UCAT). In the autumn semester, we focused on empathy-building in Do They Care?. In the spring semester, we focused on two topics: belonging and race/gender/power dynamics in the classroom. For the first time ever, the spring company produced two entirely different shows with two different topics that shared the same core characters, Belong and i carry it everywhere. These companion shows offered audiences the opportunity to see the same set of characters at two different points in the semester by attending both nights. This year was an opportunity to continue building exciting partnerships across the university. As always, InterACT serves as both a service-learning course and production opportunity for our students, theatre majors and minors, and students from a range of disciplines at Ohio State.
