Film Ambassadors are undergraduate students enrolled as majors in Film Studies and Moving-Image Production. Ambassadors build community and share their experiences of what it's like to be part of Ohio State's film majors, campus communities, and student organizations.

Fourth-Year Film Ambassadors

Halle is a fourth year Film Studies major with a focus area in film production, and a second major in Environment, Economy, Development, and Sustainability. She’s passionate about combining her interests in sustainability, business, and film to create meaningful media. Halle serves as VP of Communications for Alpha Phi Omega, where she manages social media and designs merchandise. She’s also involved in the Business of Entertainment Club and Students for Sustainable Fashion, contributing videographic content to their annual fashion show. As an ambassador for the School of Environment and Natural Resources, Halle creates promotional and community-focused media projects. She recently shot a Clippers game at Huntington Park and dreams of working in media that emphasizes conservation and sustainability education. Halle first picked up a camera at age two and keeps an extensive movie watchlist. She also enjoys tennis and kayaking in her free time.

Jules is a fourth year double-major in Film Studies and Studio Art. Jules’ main medium is experimental video work, which they’ve shown in several galleries like the Indianapolis Arts Center and Urban Arts Space, as well as festivals like the Athens International Film and Video Festival and the Odds and Ends Experimental Film Festival in Virginia. They enjoy being on the art board of several student organizations, such as the AROUSE student radio and the Ohio State Women’s Glee Club, and recently finished up a fellowship with the Undergraduate Libraries Fellowship Program. Jules loves collaboration and getting to discuss film and art with others, and has found really great resources for these kinds of discussions and points of community that they’d love to share with others at Ohio State. After graduating, Jules plans on continuing their video art practice and academic career, hoping to receive their MFA in video art.

Georgia is a fourth-year Moving-Image Production and Arts Management double major, with a Film Studies Minor. Georgia is interested in the business of cinema and learning about how screenplays are chosen, funded, and created through all modes of production. Georgia's dream job is to hold a managerial role within film production (such as production coordinator, line producer, or creative producer). Her passion for filmmaking stems from being a figure of support in the creative process for artists, and assisting them in the curation of their art by alleviating logistical stressors during production. Georgia aspires to live and work in LA or New York, but is also excited to see how the film industry continues to grow in Ohio. Georgia is Co-President of the Twilight Club, and member of the Female Gaze Screening Club and Mad Royal Film Society. She has been involved in production since she was 15 years old, as production assistant for her hometown’s city cable network, filming events for local government, high school sports, and music performances. Georgia has worked at the MMC Digital Lab as a Video Apprentice, Junior Video Developer, and most recently as Motion Graphics Team Lead, learning more about creating fluid motion graphics. Georgia challenges herself to watch 3-4 movies per week, most at the Gateway Film Center. She has the entire script of “Twilight” memorized, and can recite the dialogue verbatim! Georgia is excited to be a resource for students on the different stages and components of video production, and the types of resources available at Ohio State.

Logan is a fourth-year Moving-Image Production major with documentary Focus, and Minors in Film Studies and Studio Art. While in the Moving-Image Production program, Logan hopes to gain the necessary training and knowledge to continue as an independent director for music videos, curate fashion editorial looks, and travel to produce documentaries. Logan has served as a Video Editor intern for SlapStik Comedy, and has been a photo and video specialist for the PAST Foundation, a transdisciplinary, program-based educational and research group. Currently, Logan is an independent director and artist, directing music videos and creative directing for several recording artists in Columbus. As an Ambassador, Logan hopes to share knowledge about courses, scholarships, and other opportunities with those curious about the film program or interested in developing films outside of class.

Tobias is a fourth-year Moving-Image Production major and Spanish minor. His specializations are cinematography, documentary filmmaking, and experimental strategies. After graduation, Tobias hopes to work as an in-house producer, DP, or director for commercial and documentary projects. It is his dream to one day own and operate his own production company in the commercial/doc space. Tobias is a Morrill Scholar, member of the Mad Royal Film Society, and serves as a committee representative for the Undergraduate Student Government. Tobias interned at commercial production company GP Creative on the photo and video team, where he was subsequently offered a part-time position as an assistant editor and production assistant. He currently works for GP Creative as an editor and project lead. Tobias has also worked freelance for Sansom Media as a production/camera assistant for the 2023 and 2024 Arnold Strongman Classic with Rogue Documentary/Media team. Tobias co-founded a student documentary collective called “Demise Creative” that makes short documentaries on Columbus creatives and activists. He is currently associate producing a documentary about the impact of ESL programs in the United States. Tobias is an avid bike rider and loves to travel. His favorite camera is the Sony FX30 and he hopes to one day own an ARRI Alexa 35.

Yasmeen is a senior double-majoring in Moving Image Production and Film Studies, with a minor in Game Studies. Her creative work explores the intersections of nonfiction and experimental storytelling, often incorporating traditional crafts like embroidery, crochet, and sewing into stop-motion animation. Yasmeen is the president of Cinéseries, a student organization that collaborates with the Wexner Center for the Arts to program monthly film events. She’s participated in Ohio State’s Experimental Cinema Field School in NYC, conducted international research on colonization’s impact on film, volunteers for Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, and co-founded the Solidarity Screening Collective. Yasmeen has also interned at the Wexner Center’s Film/Video Studio, studied abroad in Berlin and Venice, and currently works in the TFMA film equipment room and Hopkins photo lab, and is a research assistant at the Chronos Lab, where she supports video game research. Yasmeen’s filmmaking centers on themes of grief, longing, and love in diaspora, and she’s currently developing an experimental nonfiction piece on mental health and a stop-motion animation about familial love. She hopes to pursue a Master’s and PhD while continuing collaborative and curatorial work in film. She also loves dancing!

Third-Year Film Ambassadors

JP is a third-year Film Studies major with a passion for screenwriting, especially for television. JP also minors in Media Production and Analysis. JP is a member of the Film & Video Society at Ohio State and has attended the Sundance Film Festival with the club. He’s drawn to serialized narratives and dreams of becoming a showrunner for his own surrealist-inspired projects. His writing often incorporates surreal elements, with current work influenced by shows like Twin Peaks and Maniac. JP is deeply interested in crafting stories that challenge perception and explore unconventional storytelling techniques.

Damionna is a third-year Moving-Image Production major, with a second major in Korean and minor in Linguistics. Damionna is passionate about narrative filmmaking and storytelling, and has recently begun exploring experimental film. Damionna has worked on personal film projects with friends, served as a Video Apprentice and Junior Video Developer at the MMC digital lab, and ran the Instagram page for Ohio State’s First Year Experience office. She dances with J2K and collaborates with friends to film and share their performances. Damionna hopes to create media that celebrates joy in Black and queer communities and aims to contribute to the representation of underrepresented groups. She also dreams of combining her interests in film and Korean language and culture in her future career. Self-expression is central to her identity, and she has over 20 piercings and loves fashion, painting, and dancing. Her camera gear matches her favorite color, pink! Damionna recently studied abroad, taking language and film courses at Korea University.

Grace is a third-year Moving-Image Production major (focusing on narrative production) and a second major in Marketing. Grace is passionate about crafting visually rich stories, often using color, light refraction, and texture to bring her concepts to life. Grace has directed and produced a women-led narrative short and a research documentary through the Undergraduate Research & Apprenticeship Project, and recently completed a social media internship with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. On campus, she’s the President and Founder of the Business of Entertainment Club, serves as Outreach Coordinator for the Mad Royal Film Society, and is an active member of Cinéseries. Her favorite project to date is a short film about a struggling clown trying to break into carnival work during a tough job market. After graduation, Grace hopes to pursue a career as a film director specializing in highly-concept narratives, while also exploring screenwriting, cinematography, and commercial work that bridges her interests in film and marketing.

Pearl is a third-year Moving-Image Production major with a passion for set design and experimental filmmaking. Pearl minors in Studio Arts and Entertainment Design & Technology, and participates in film groups on campus, serving as financial chair for a new film club called Reel Connection in Film. Pearl is especially interested in how environments contribute to storytelling, and hopes to build a career in media as a set designer in film and theatrical production. Pearl is curator of an extensive personal DVD collection (collected since childhood) that includes over 300 titles, a testament to a lifelong love of cinema. After graduation, Pearl hopes to continue developing experimental filmmaking techniques and apply them to personal projects that explore pop culture and political themes.

Second-Year Film Ambassadors

Masha is a second-year Moving-Image Production major with a deep interest in immersive, real-life storytelling experiences. At Ohio State, Masha has worked with the MMC Digital Lab as part of the Video Team, and serves as an executive board member of the Mad Royal Film Society. She is also a member of the Cinéseries screening club. Masha moved to the U.S. in 10th grade and brings a global perspective to her creative work. She is passionate about travel and connecting with others, and is excited to support fellow students in exploring film opportunities both on campus and within Columbus’s creative community. After graduation, she hopes to continue working on projects that inspire her and delve further into immersive media.

Saige is a second-year Moving-Image Production major with interests centered on experimental film production in a short film format. Saige is passionate about storytelling that provokes thought and encourages dialogue, and hopes to connect with film students to curate new ideas and produce collaborative film projects together. As part of the creative process, Saige likes to transform poems and prose into film scripts. Saige is also working on developing a social media platform aimed at spreading political knowledge in engaging and digestible formats. After graduation, Saige has aspirations to become an author and screenwriter for film and television, and launch a film production company.

Film Alumni Ambassadors

Minami Boyd (Film Studies B.A. '25) - Alumna in film. Minami hopes to become a showrunner of her own television shows in the fantasy genre (specifically, the magical girl genre that can be found in shojo anime). She would like to create characters drawn from underrepresented communities in media, including her experiences of being hapa/hafu/mixed-Asian (half-Japanese and half-White). Minami lends her film expertise to discussions about representation in media and would love to further study how fandom culture relates to spectator experiences of media. In 2025, Minami presented her research on “The Digital-vinity of Hatsune Miku” at the Comparative Studies Undergraduate Colloquium.

Sebastian Griffith (Film Studies B.A. '25) - Creative Development Intern, Raimi Productions. Sebastian graduated with a Film Studies major and specialization in Screenwriting and Narrative Production. Sebastian hopes to work in a creative role in the narrative world of film, and apply his experience in screenwriting and production to work on developing features or continue as a film critic. While at Ohio State, Sebastian was film critic for The Lantern and served as President of the Film and Video Society. Sebastian has been a creative development intern for Epicenter LA literary management, Phoenix Pictures, Raimi Productions, and Night Owl Stories. Riley Johansen (Moving-Image Production/Business-Marketing B.A. '25) - Motion Graphic, FC Cincinnati MLS team. Riley completed a Moving-Image Production major, specializing in narrative and animated film, and a Minor in Film Studies. Riley currently works on motion graphics for FS Cincinnati Major League Soccer team. You will see Riley's work on the scoreboards during matches currently as she continues to hone her interests in the sports industry, and apply her talents in videography, animation, and graphic design. In her current role, she conceptualizes, designs and creates 2-D and 3-D graphics and animation packages for in-stadium and LED presentations while assisting in Match production and fan engagement efforts.
Clay Kessler (Moving-Image Production/Business-Marketing B.A. '25) - Videographer/Editor, Ohio Sea Grant. While at the Ohio State University, Clay specialized in narrative film with an interest in cinematography. Clay served as leadership for the Mad Royal Film Society and interned with WOSU Public Media editing public television shows, with Ohio Sea Grant as a videographer, and for sporting event broadcasting in Columbus for the B1G+ network. Clay's dream job is to work as a director of photography for commercial projects and narrative features.

Jack Knellinger (Moving-Image Production B.A. '25) - Outdoor filmmaker and photographer. Since graduating in 2025, Jack is an outdoors filmmaker and photographer in Denver, Colorado, where he takes advantage of the city's proximity to the mountains and abundant outdoor recreation opportunities. Jack works closely with studios and artists to make commercial and branded nonfiction work to tell compelling stories for outdoor/wilderness brands and athletes. At Ohio State, Jack served as President of the Mountaineers at Ohio State and Co-President of the Mad Royal Film Society, and he interned with Camp4 Collective, a creative content studio and media production company that connects audiences to nature and the outdoors.

Nicholas Marrone (Moving-Image Production/Business-Marketing B.A. '25) - Motion Graphics Associate, Chicago Bears Football. After graduating, Nicholas secured a job as a Motion Graphics Associate with the Chicago Bears, where he is excited to artistically contribute to a storied and iconic organization. At Ohio State, Nicholas was a Student Football Video Operations Assistant with The Ohio State Buckeyes (during the team's historic National Championship Victory). He also served as Vice President of the Mad Royal Film Society student filmmaking organization, and worked as a student intern for the Florence Y'alls Baseball Team in Kentucky, as a Video Operations and Production Intern, handling the team’s official live broadcast, motion graphics, and social media accounts.

Juliet Campbell (Moving-Image Production B.A. '24) - NFL Films Creative Producing Intern; Inaugural Video Fellow, Forbes.
Juliet graduated in 2024 with a specialization in documentary film, sports media, live production, and editing. Juliet has served as the National Football League (NFL) Films Creative Producing Intern, where she enjoys the exciting, fast-paced environment of sports media and the detailed, intimate environment of documentary and commercial work. In 2025, she became the inaugural Bernard Osei Video Fellowship with Forbes, in an immersive training program for early-career multi-platform video producers. In her role, she will rotate through the Forbes video department to develop skills related to producing and editing. While at Ohio State, Juliet held multiple internships with OSU Athletics, the Ohio State football team, BIG Ten+ Network, NASCAR, and was a freelance videographer for Grammy-nominated rapper Quavo's foundation. Fun fact: filmmaker Ava DuVernay follows Juliet on Instagram!

Doran Dyer (Moving-Image Production B.A. '24) - FilmRise Graphic Video Editor ; RAW CUTS Chief Video Editor. While at Ohio State, Doran's areas of interest included experimental, narrative, and animated film, editing, and directing. After graduation, Doran moved to Brooklyn, NY, where he joined Business Insider in Manhattan as a Media Studios Fellow. Doran is currently the Graphic Video Editor at FilmRise, and serves as Chief Video Editor for Raw Cuts TV, a Brooklyn based media group focused on DJ set content. Doran’s passions involve directing, assistant directing, and editing, and in 2024 he began freelance work as an Assistant Director. Doran loves working with 16mm film, and is currently submitting a short film, MYTH to festivals. Doran is happy to talk to any students exploring the film and media in New York City after graduation.

Bhairavi Gupte (Film Studies B.A. '24) - Digital Marketing, Radiantze Information Technology and Software. Bhairavi graduated in Spring 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies (Screenwriting focus) and minor in Business. At Ohio State, Bhairavi served as an active member of the APIDA community on campus and on the executive board for the Asian American Association. Bhairavi is passionate about film and media literacy, and hopes to continue to explore her interests in film such as animation, scripts, international film, and film theory. She is currently a digital marketer for an IT development company that provides application development, ERP, and consulting services.

Cleo Somohano (Moving-Image Production B.A. '24) - Graduate School, MFA Digital Animation and Interactive Media, Ohio State University . Cleo graduated with a B.A. in Moving Image Production in 2024. In her undergraduate studies, she specialized in 3D computer animation, with interest in stylized modeling and texture art. Cleo has served as Animation Intern with Essence Cartoon animation studio; created a commissioned animation short for a Biomedical Engineering published video abstract; and she participated in the OSU Los Angeles Career Trek for students in the Arts in 2023. In 2024, Cleo returned to The Ohio State University for graduate studies in the Master of Fine Arts in Digital Animation and Interactive Media program through the Department of Design.

Lindy Tran (Moving-Image Production B.A. '24) - Editor, Motion Graphics Artist, Videographer, Russell Tree Experts. Lindy graduated in 2024 with a degree in Moving-Image Production. She now puts those skills to use to create short-form social media content, long-form educational content for the forestry and arboriculture industry, and record on-location audio and video of outdoor forestry events such as tree climbing and heavy-equipment manuverability. At Ohio State, Lindy was Vice-President of the Mad Royal Film Society and part of the Media, Marketing, and Communications Scholars Program at Ohio State. Lindy was an intern for Ohio HD Studios and has immersed herself in the Columbus filmmaking community.

Gabe Lomotey (Film Studies B.A. '22) - Creative Director, Actuality Media. Gabe graduated from the Ohio State University with a B.A. in Film Studies in 2022. During his studies he became intrigued with the works of many film theorists such as Susan Sontag and Girish Shambu, whose work analyzes different aspects of cinema and film theory. Gabe opened his own videography and photography company "YMDMedia" with services including wedding videos, music videos, photography, and more. In early 2020, Gabe released a short film titled Refuge, and currently serves as Creative Director at Actuality Media Video Agency.

Maya Neyman (Moving-Image Production/Documentary B.A. '22) - Production Associate, ABC News Studios. Maya specialized in documentary film production at the Ohio State University. While completing her degree, Maya held a variety of production internships to enhance her classroom skills in moving-image production. Maya interned with the Long Form Production unit at ABC News through the Disney Professional Internship Program, and was subsequently hired by ABC News Studios for their non-fiction division launched in 2020, producing documentaries and docuseries for Hulu. Maya's work explores the integration of documentary film and visual journalism.
