On October 29, students from the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts participated in a Career Immersion Day at WOSU Public Media, sponsored by ASC Career Success. The in-person event offered a behind-the-scenes look at one of Central Ohio’s premier public media organizations.

Held at WOSU’s state-of-the-art facility on North Pearl Street, the morning began with studio tours showcasing the station’s diverse platforms, including 89.7 NPR News, WOSU TV, Classical 101, and WOSU Classroom. Students had the opportunity to meet with WOSU staff and fellow students working in radio, television, journalism, and digital media. A lively Q&A session allowed attendees to ask questions about career paths, production workflows, and the station’s commitment to quality journalism, arts, and culture.

WOSU Public Media has been serving Central Ohio since 1922, and continues to be a vital resource through its on-air content, community engagement, and educational initiatives. The event gave students a valuable glimpse into the professional world of public media and helped them envision future career possibilities.
