1970s
David E. Patrick (BA 1972 and MFA 1974) moved to Macomb, Illinois to teach at Western Illinois University (WIU). He taught scenic design and theatre related courses during his time at WIU. He served as department chair in 2008 until he retired on June 1, 2014. He was also a Managing Director for WIU’s Summer Music Theatre for over 30 years. He credits his success to his colleagues and students here at The Ohio State University.
1980s
Annette Reid (BFA 1982) Jack is a producing ensemble based in Los Angeles, founded in 2008 by Jens Kohler, Annette Reid, Carlos Carrasco and Kent Minault. The name “JACK” is an acronym of their first names. Their short film “Let Me Finish” has been honored as an Official Selection of the 2015 Independent Filmmakers Showcase IFS Film Festival and was screened in a block of short films on May 24th at the Beverly Hills Music Hall. Their short film “Lossed” has also been recognized. Written by and featuring Annette Reid along with Jens Kohler, “Lossed” has gathered three festival laurels. It won the Award of Merit from the Best Shorts Film Competition in April. “Lossed” was recognized earlier this year as an official selection of the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards and the 2015 California Women’s Film Festival where it was screened in January.
1990s
Emily Bach (BA 1996) Since graduating from Ohio State Theatre in 1996, Emily Bach has lived in Wyoming once, LA twice, and spent nearly 3 years working in Chicago. In all locations, and in Columbus – where she’s lived in between and resides currently – she’s been involved with numerous and diverse projects, and has performed roles in voice-over, on stage, and in television and film. Highlights onstage include award-winning performances as Kate in She Stoops to Conquer (2005) and as the title character in Hedda Gabler (2010); creating roles in two premieres, both in Columbus (“Marian” in Women at Play’s 2004 production of The Edible Woman, and “Mom/Gramma” in Available Light Theatre’s 2011 staging of Skyscrapers of the Midwest); and ripping out Frankenstein’s heart as Veronique in Frankenstein in Love at Chicago’s Will Act For Food Theatre in 2008. More recently, Emily starred as Olivia in the 2011 New Players Theater production of Twelfth Night, and sang with the ensemble in Available Light Theatre’s 2012 run of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. In 2014, she’s originated two roles, one in Dave Carley’s newest play, Twelve Hours (Dr. Krista Vulic), and the other with the for/word company’s current work-in-progress, Patience Worth (Pearl Curran/Patience Worth). On camera, highlights include appearances in Kenny Chesney’s “CMT Best Male Video of 2006” for Who You’d Be Today; PBS’ SCIENTASTIC!; the award-winning and Columbus-produced web series Aidan 5 (Lauren Aidan); 2010’s independent feature film The Pledge (Marnie); and most recently, Fox 2000’s summer blockbuster, The Fault In Our Stars (Monica’s Mom). Lumiri (Khahaifa) Tubo (MFA 1991) is a very successful cabaret singer in NYC. She was featured on the cover of Cabaret Scenes.
Mitzi Sinnott (BA 1993) “SNAPSHOT: true story of love interrupted by invasion” will have its television debut in Columbus. One city at a time that made its television debut on PBS stations across America. SNAPSHOT is the film of the internationally acclaimed solo play about a daughters search to find her father missing since the Vietnam War. Fusing words, dance, music and film this story chronicles the quest of a mixed-race daughter from Central Appalachia who eventually finds her homeless Vietnam Veteran father suffering in Hawaii. Sinnott was nominated for BEST ACTRESS at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, special selection at: Cape Town Festival South Africa and International Women’s Festival Tornio Finland and recipient of: Brooklyn Arts Council Individual Artist Grant, and Kentucky Foundation for Women Arts Meets Activism Grant.
Roy Sexton (MA 1995) Farmington Hills, Michigan-based Trott Law, a real estate finance law firm, announced that its Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs Roy Sexton was selected to participate on a four-person panel at this year’s Legal Marketing Conference (LMA). Taking place from April 13-15, Roy and his fellow panelists offered practical advice on effectively communicating with lawyers, leveraging generational commonalities, delivering results that will build credibility and establishing a career network. Sexton, a resident of Saline/Ann Arbor, started out penning saucy missives about the latest Hollywood blockbusters at his blog www.reelroyreviews.com, but lately he has been writing more about theatrical productions, concerts, and other live musical performances, as well as conducting the occasional interview. In his latest book Reel Roy Reviews, Vol. 2: Keep ‘Em Coming!, Roy reviews Sting’s new musical The Last Ship, offers musings on shows by Lady Gaga, Cher, Randy Newman, and Katy Perry; and has written one of the snarkiest pieces you will ever read about a Transformers film. Roy was a featured performer in October 2014 in The Penny Seats musical revue Tomfoolery, celebrating the words and music of satirist, mathematician, and cult favorite, Tom Lehrer.
2000s
Jessica Biggert (BA 2007) is a Certified Application Counselor at Benefits Data Trust.
Eric Colleary (BA 2002) was named as Cline Curator of Theater and Performing Arts for the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin. According to the center, Eric “will oversee research, access, and interpretation of the Ransom Center’s theater and performing arts materials.” Previously, Eric was a visiting professor of performance studies and history in the Department of Theatre and Dance at Macalester College in Saint Paul, MN. He holds a doctorate in Theater Historiography from the University of Minnesota. He was also an archivist and volunteer with the Tretter Collection of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Studies at the University of Minnesota Libraries since 2009, where he organized the exhibition “Stonewall at 40: The Gay and Lesbian Rights Movement in America.” He currently serves on committees for the Theatre Library Association and the American Theatre Archives Project.
Megan Corbin (BA 2005) is a Theatre Teacher at Encore Academy, Reynoldsburg High School.
Nicholas Dekker (PhD 2007) was voted Best Blogger in (614) Magazine again in 2015. He is working for the Greater Columbus Arts Council helping to manage ArtsInOhio.com and their new state-wide events calendar.
John Rogers Harris (PhD 2003) is Staff Development Specialist at NC Department of Health and Human Services.
Jason Hedden (MFA 2006) is Chair of the Division of Visual and Performing Arts at Gulf Coast State College.
Gordon Holey (BA 2001) Gordon Holey was recently featured in ibershires.com for his one man puppet show The Story Book.
Shiree Houf (MFA 2008) is an Independent Stylist at Stella & Dot.
Michael Karp (BA 1990, MFA 2000) worked on set designs for Tim Clothier. He currently does scheduling for buildings, maintains the inventory, orders all the stock on specialized items, tracks the budgets, and other office work.
Eric Mayer (BA 2003, MFA 2011) worked as the Assistant Stage Manager of the Off-Broadway production of The 39 Steps in New York. Before that he was Assistant Stage Manager on the 2014 Concert Tour of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County written by Stephen King with music by John Mellencamp, under the musical direction of T Bone Burnett. The touring cast starred Billy Burke and Gina Gershon.

Karen Mozingo (PhD 2008) received the Selma Jeanne Cohen Conference Presentation Award at American Society for Theatre Research (ASTR) and Theatre Library Association (TLA) 2014 Conference, November 20-23, in Baltimore, Maryland. According to the Society of Dance History Scholars (SDHS) website, “This award provides up to $1000 to a scholar to participate in a plenary or working session at the ASTR conference. This presentation must, in the spirit of Selma Jeanne Cohen, explore the intersections of theatre and dance/movement. Funds shall be used to cover travel and hotel expenses. The purpose of the award is to encourage scholars in dance and movement-based fields to become active members of ASTR by helping them to meet the travel and hotel expenses of attending and presenting at the ASTR annual meeting. ASTR conference registration fees will be waived for award winners.”
Anthony Pellecchia (MFA 2009) started in August as Assistant Professor of Theater for lighting and Sound Design at the University of Memphis.
Amy Witherby (BA 2009) Since graduating, Amy has been working as a stage manager at several different theatres, including The Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival (Shakespeare in the Park), Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Utah Shakespeare Festival and The Goodman Theatre. She was recently offered her Equity card with Chicago Children’s Theatre.
2010s
Emi Bungo (BA 2014) joined the Ohio State Graduate School registration services staff. She coordinates late add and drop petitions, oversees their workshop enrollments, and answers general questions.
Phil Garrett (MFA 2012) Phil’s film, “The Astronomer” screened at the 28th Stuttgarter Filmwinter Expanded Media Festival in January. The festival focuses on interdisciplinary approaches to multimedia installations, video art, and new media, and screenings of feature, documentary and short films. Phil was a finalist for the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC) 2014 Media Arts Fellowship. The Media Arts Fellowship awards assist recipients in any manner they choose to support the creation of new works and/or the advancement of their careers. Phil is also a producer, writer, director at Arbor Avenue Films. He is also an assistant professor and acting chair of the cinematic arts department at Columbus College of Art and Design (CCAD).
Margaret Glaser (BA 2012) completed a summer internship in Domestic Franchise Marketing at Sony Pictures Television and a fall internship at DreamWorks TV Animation as a Development Intern. She completed her Masters of Entertainment Industry Management in Los Angeles, CA with Carnegie Mellon University in May.
Max Glenn (MA 2014) Max moved to Cleveland to be a C.A.R.E Teaching Artist for Cleveland Play House.
Kyle Hatfield (Theatre Minor 2015) was an Arts Administration intern with the Actors Theatre of Louisville in the autumn season.
Claire Landuyt (BA 2013) was Assistant Stage Manager for Forever Plaid at CATCO.

Andrea Schimmoeller (BA 2010) Andrea is now is now Program Associate at National Council on Aging and a Tutor at Educational Connections.
Genevieve Simon (BA 2014) was an Arts outreach coordinator at Claire Trevor School of Arts.
Kyler Dean Moor (BA 2012) Kyler has been admitted into the non-fiction MFA program at Butler University.
Monica White Ndounou (PhD 2007) has been tenured and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor at Tufts University. Dr. Ndounou is affiliate faculty for American Studies, Africana Studies, International Literature and Visual Studies, Communications and Media Studies, as well as Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Her monograph, shaping the Future of African American Film: Color-Coded Economics and the Story Behind the Numbers (Rutgers University Press, 2014, 303 pages) is now available for purchase. Monica defended her dissertation, “The Color of Hollywood: The Cultural Politics Controlling the Production of African American Original Screenplays, Stage Plays and Novels Adapted into Films from 1980 to 2000” (868 pages) in the spring of 2007. The members of her dissertation committee were Stratos E. Constantinidis (adviser), Anthony Hill, and Linda James Myers.
Matt Yde (PhD 2011) was Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He taught Intro to Graduate Studies, Theatre History: Greek to 18th Century, and Theatre Topics: the Origin and Development of Modern Theatre and Drama. He also taught a graduate seminar on Theatre Criticism and Theory, Theatre History: Romanticism to Contemporary, and another Theatre Topics course.

“Ipps, co-fronted by Emily Davis (former OSU PhD candidate/instructor), will be released a full-length (LP) record on Superdreamer Records. The project consisted of keyboard, guitar, and dual drums. Members included Ohio State Department of Linguistics alumnus, Mat Bisaro, as well as members and former members of The Something Somethings, Messrs, Necropolis, El Jesus De Majico, The Guinea Worms, and Unholy 2. In support of the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence, Ipps joined FeMMeFest in a performance at the Summit and their record release party was at Ace of Cups.
William H. Inglis, passed away at the end of July at the age of 77. Bill was a colleague at Ohio State’s Department of Theatre several decades ago, where he taught and coordinated public relations and supervised the box office. Bill went on to a distinguished career in public relations, mentorship to several hundred aspiring performing artists, and continued his theatrical work as a director, most recently with the Columbus Civic Theatre.
